Three things that make your product sells

I’ve been asking to myself: why did I buy those products? What made me choose them instead other competitors. Putting yourself in a consumer’s shoes is a great way to get hints on how to sell your own products.

Anyway, here are the three things that came up. It is ordered based on easiness to realize.

  1. The product’s title, brand, naming … whatever you call it. Don’t you like products with titles like “Easy …”, “Instant ….”, “Step-by-step …”? Yeah, people like anything that promise heaven to them.
There is also one factor you want to consider when naming your products. Sound. Yeap, it is how your title/brand sounds when people saying it. Using vocals is great for relaxation products. For example, ‘air’, ‘aqua’, ‘unchain’, etc. You can use strong sound characters to products related to self-improvement or money-making. For example, ‘razor’, ‘rocket’, ‘vault’, etc.
  2. The packaging, in case of digital products, that would be the graphics and the sales letter. I bet that you’ve made your purchase decision based on these two ;-)
  3. The author/maker’s name, which is probably your name. Most of the times I purchase products from someone that I know, s/he delivers good products. It takes time to build your name reputation. But hey, time can be your enemy but can be your friend to. If you’re taking action to build your reputation, as time passes the results will come.
