Interacting With Your Customers Online

The answer of this question can be vary. Each salesman can have their own version of answer.

In my perspective, sales activity is an activity that is conducted in order to convert prospects into customers and thus bring revenue to a business.

And what would be the most important element in this activity is communicating with your prospects.

Thanks to the internet, communicating with your prospects can be easily done. Not only easy, but also can be done in a lot of ways.

Let me show you some examples:

  1. Online Newsletter
    Publishing your own newsletter is a great way to pass on your thoughts to your prospects.

    In its nature, newsletter is a one-way communication tool. You want to add other tools that can provide you two-ways communication with your prospects and connect them together using your newsletter (e.g. promote your blog in your newsletter).

  2. Blog
    Blog is an interesting tool. It can be used as a one-way communication as well as multi-ways. It depends how you want to use it.

    If you want it to become a one-way communication tool, just disable comments function. Otherwise, allow your readers to show their thoughts about your post.

    By having your own blog, not only it benefits your readers but it can help you to organize your thoughts. Making an output is a proactive method to explode your creativity.

    If you don’t have your blog yet, I suggest you create one for your self. Try Wordpress Private Tutorial as your guide. Create post regularly, once a week, for an example. You will find ideas flowing in your mind each time you create your new post.

    If you do have your own blog, you want to increase communication activity with your readers. You have to stimulate response from your readers.

  3. Forum
    At the forum, there are many people interacting with each other.

    Unlike blog, where you can be the main person (expert), at forum everybody has the chance to become the main person.

    The key to a success sales activity in a forum is by joining a forum with a purpose to be recognized as an expert by other members. This way you will gain trust from them and hopefully, they will buy from you.

    The best part is that you can also gain knowledge about your market there. What their needs and wants are.

    The most popular forum in online business is Warrior Forum. I suggest you join the forum and start networking there.

  4. SNS
    MySpace, Facebook, Friendster are the example of SNS. You can build a network of prospects and customers by using this medium.

    To be honest, I am not really in the SNS sales activity but I do have a Facebook account ;-) Come and join me!

These are not the only place on the internet where you can communicate with your prospects. But they are surely good starters.
