Forming Mastermind For Success

Have you read “Think and Grow Rich” ?

I think it’s one of the most popular books in self improvement and business category.

Most successful businessmen have read this book and most probably recommend it to other people. Just in case you haven’t read this book or this is the first time you ever heard about the title, then I suggest you stop reading this post and grab a copy yourself.

I’m going to take one part of this book that says about having your own “mastermind” group.

What is this mastermind group anyway?

Well, to make it simple, you can say that it’s a group of people with different expertises that you can contact for help or suggestion or exchanging ideas anytime you want in order to help you with your business.

So it won’t be a bunch of gangsters that you can order them to wipe off someone you hate. No, it won’t be a group of people like that. You want to build a business not a yakuza empire.

OK, the sarcasm is meant to give you a point that you need to know what kind of people you want to include in your mastermind group. You have to be picky.

In order to do that, first thing first, you need to know what is your goal.

If you’re reading this post then your goal is probably to have your own online business. So, I’m going to use this as an example.

To have a running online business, what components do you need?

Product, Marketing, Sales, Service, Web Technology. I can’t think of more now.

Suppose you’re good at product development, but you’re inferior in other area. What kind of people do you think you should include in your Mastermind Group?

Right. People who are experts in areas where you’re not.

Where you can find these people?

There are many ways you can do this at this century. Here are some examples:
1. Offline Meetings

I have a great chance to meet other Internet Marketers based in Japan last summer.

Me and Craig and Kevin

Here’s a snapshot of me with Craig Desorcy and Kevin Riley.

They are experts in niche business (offline and online) and product development, respectively.

Having them in my contact list is a great asset.

They are, well, part of my mastermind group.

2. Freelancing Sites

You can find experts in many fields at freelancing sites. To have them in your mastermind group, the key is to build a long term relationship.

Regular communication is necessary. So, at first, you will need to find someone reliable and give them ‘projects’ regularly. It doesn’t have to be expensive projects. Just enough for you to build a regular communication with the experts of your choice.

3. Online Forums

You can find experts from many different fields hanging out at forums (Internet Marketers are not the only one who use forum).

If you need an expert of copywriting, you can find them probably at Michel Fortin’s site. But you cannot find someone who can fix your Wordpress blog there ;-).

I think you get my point.

Last words, if you want to form your mastermind group, I urge you to join my Online Business Forum. This way, you’ll be adding myself in your mastermind group.

After you join the forum, introduce yourself there and post your goals at ‘Mastermind’ group. The more of you join the forum, the stronger we will be.

I hate to ‘bribe’ people, but there are also free goodies at the forum for members only. So, your effort will be awarded instantly.

I’ll see you there at the forum.
