Be Different, Be Different, Be Different
If you enter a market that have many competitors, then you must have something unique in your business.
Your uniqueness doesn’t always have to be your products. It can be anything in within your business system. That includes, production system, sales system, marketing system, customer service system.
I’ll give you some examples:
Uniqueness In Production System
What made TOYOTA success? it’s their production system, know as Lean Manufacturing System or TOYOTA production system. Their unique system made it possible to cut costs as much as possible, and they strive to keep it that way.
It is their production system that brings competitive edge over other competitors.
Uniqueness In Sales System
DELL is a great example for this. They offer custom build computers that you can order without having you come to their place (I never see their outlets here).
That’s something that they offer since the beginning. Just tell them what you need and they’ll deliver it to you.
Many after that follows DELL’s step but none has beat the pioneer.
Uniqueness In Marketing System
Good example for this is Amazon.com, the mother of internet affiliate marketing some people said.
They have this so called “associates program”. They provide you with a unique link and then give you commissions for every purchase on their site that come from your referral (people that arrive at Amazon.com using your unique link).
This soon became popular as affiliate marketing on the internet.
Uniqueness In Customer Service System
I want to show you an example of a local sushi restaurant in my town.
As a sushi fan, I’ve been to many sushi restaurants starting from a cheap one and that of high quality one. Many of them have unique customer service system but I found this one particular restaurant amused me very much.
Watch the video below of how they deliver your sushi order.

I don\’t know …
It is a franchised or chained restaurant.
Probably someone at the headquarter thought of the idea.
Usually at other sushi restaurants, your order will be brought by the waiter or delivered via the conveyor belt.
But not this restaurant. Kids are so eager to see that shinkansen train bring their orders. They love it so much.
You see. Parents decisions sometimes (or maybe most of the times) are constrained by their children\’s demands.
So, by influencing children to buy something, then you can \’force\’ their parents to hand over their money to you
